While Delhi has been known for its poor Air Quality, it isn’t a happy realization that Gurgaon (Gurugram) has been faring poorly on Indoor Air Quality. This is bad also because we spend most of our time indoors and usually think of protection from Air Pollution when we are outdoors.
A survey conducted by Artemis Hospital Gurgaon under the Clean Air Movement covered 628 people across offices and homes. Residential areas like Sushaant Lok, Nirvana Country, Gurgaon Sector 4, and DLF Phase III were covered, as were Automobile, Manufacturing, and IT office areas. The results don’t look too good.
The total percentage of locations with high indoor particulate pollution is a whopping 76%. This has lead to 31% of residents having some airway-disease, and 46% having symptoms suggesting respiratory disease.
We spend more time indoors than outdoors and therefore, any indoor pollutant has a higher likelihood of being breathed in. The study reveals that we spend 90% of our time indoors – it is easy to see how alarming the situation already is.

Thankfully, an easy fix is available even though expensive. With the help of an adequate number of Air Purifiers and Air Quality Monitors
indoors, it is easy to monitor and improve our air. Think of it like
the adoption of Air Conditioners and RO water systems. We never knew we
needed these until after we got them.
